Northrop Grumman Corp. Engineering Scholars competition

Northrop Grumman Corp., the aerospace and electronics company, said applications are now available for its annual Engineering Scholars competition, which will provide a total of $20,000 in college scholarships to Salt Lake City-area high school seniors interested in studying engineering.

Two individual scholarships of $10,000 — payable in $2,500 installments over four years — will be available to high school seniors living in Salt Lake, Davis, Utah or Weber counties, near the company’s Navigation Systems Division facility in Salt Lake City.

A committee of Northrop Grumman employees will select the winners.

Each applicant must be a graduating senior in the spring of 2012 from a public or accredited private high school. Scholarship program candidates must have achieved a minimum compost SAT score of 1700 or ACT score of 27, as well as a minimum GPA of 3.5.

The application deadline is March 31, 2012. To apply, interested students should go to www.es.northropgrumman.com/community/engscholars and complete the online application.
