2012 Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship Grants for Prospective Educators

Here is a link for 2012 Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship Grants for Prospective Educators.  This is an international competition that awards grants ranging from $500 to $5000 to seniors planning on pursuing a career in education.  Applications are due April 1, 2012.

Students will only have a short time to accomplish the required tasks and submit their application packet.  Please quickly distribute these applications to interested high school seniors who plan on majoring in education and meet the eligibility criteria:

Eligibility

Individuals who meet one of the following criteria may apply directly to PDK International through the online application:

  • High school senior intending to major in education who is a member of a Future Educators Association® chapter in good standing
  • High school senior intending to major in education who is the child or grandchild of a Kappan in good standing
  • High school senior intending to major in education who has one of his/her reference letters written by a Kappan in good standing
  • An undergraduate member of an FEA or PDK chapter who is enrolled in a college education program

The online deadline for submitting your application for a 2012 Prospective Educator Scholarship is April 1, 2012.

Applicants are evaluated on five criteria: academic standing, essay, letters of recommendation, school activities, and community activities.  Equal weight is given to each of the areas.
