Walk-In Registration 2012-13 Info and Forms

Dear Paradigm Families,

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer break! Please read below for some important information and save these dates on your calendar!

First, we have received several phone calls from our families concerning class registration dates. Please do not fret, you haven't missed anything! We are finalizing a few things and students will be able to sign-up for classes next week. We will contact you via e-mail and phone with sign-up dates and times for each grade.

Parent and Student Walk-In Registration

Wednesday August 8th
7 am - 1 pm
Orientation: 7:30 am, 8:30 am, 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm

Thursday August 9th
7 am - 11 am
Orientation: 7:30 am, 8:30 am, 9:30 am, 10:30 am


  • This is for parents/guardians and their students. We strongly recommend that you bring your student(s) with you to the orientation.
  • Parents and students may come either day during the scheduled times.
  • During this walk-in registration/orientation, families will pay for required school fees, be informed of important events, and receive useful information about our school. In order to receive your student's schedule before school starts, you will need to pay the required fees listed below. Class schedules will not be available at walk-in registration. We will inform you when schedules are ready to be picked up.
  • There will be a short orientation for parents and student that will cover general information about our school, including the dress code. Each session will run 30 minutes or less. You can also ask any questions you might have at the orientation. We encourage everyone to attend an orientation session as it is useful information for both new and returning students and their families.
When you come to walk-in registration, you will receive some information concerning your student at the welcome table. We will have the Student Information Page that you filled out when you first enrolled your student in the spring or summer. We ask that you look over it and make sure everything is correct and accurate. You will also receive a fee worksheet that will indicate the fees you are required to pay per student in order to receive class schedules.

Required Fees:
Registration Fee*                $25.00
Activity Fee                         $50.00
Instructional Materials Fee $75.00

*You should have paid the Registration Fee back in the spring or summer when you enrolled your student. If you haven't paid it, we will have this fee marked for you indicating that you still need to pay it.

PLEASE NOTE We can only accept cash or check. If you plan to pay by check, please be prepared to write a separate check for each student (if applicable).

The fee worksheet will also have class fees listed, but we ask that you wait until the first week of school to pay class fees. Students who have not paid their class fees after the first two weeks of school will be removed from that class and put into a class that does not require a fee.

You will also be able to pay for yearbooks, parking permits, intramural athletics, etc. at walk-in registration. We will also have a limited number of Paradigm Jackets and t-shirts for sale. Jackets are $45 and t-shirts are $10. Neither are required for the dress code, but it's always nice to show our school spirit!


Dress Code:
In preparation for the upcoming school year, please note these changes and clarifications to the dress code:

NEW
  • Dark Gray is now an approved dress code color for Pants, Skirts, Boy's Shorts, and Girl's Capris.
  • Navy Blue is no longer an approved color for shoes. Shoes must only be solid Black or solid Dark Brown (including the sole for both colors).
  • Shoes may be ANY style (no open-toed, open-heeled) as long as they are in two approved colors.
  • Some PE classes may require Paradigm issued PE uniforms. PE uniforms can be purchased when school begins.
NOTE: Hooded sweatshirts (including zip-up and pullover) are not approved this year and hoods on heavy winter coats/jackets are not to be worn in the building.

PLEASE review the dress code (available on our website) as you complete your school shopping and make sure that you ask if you have any questions beforehand. Thank you!


First Week of School:
Monday August 20th: New Student Orientation (new students only!) - modified school schedule (12:05 pm release)
Tuesday August 21st & Wednesday August 22nd: Jump Start Days (all students required) - modified school schedule (12:05 pm release)
Thursday August 23rd: A Day Begins

Attendance:
Please review our attendance policy as stated in our handbook (available August 1st on our website) and in the registration materials that are included. We ask that you send all e-mail correspondence regarding attendance to attendance@paradigmhigh.org. This includes all excused absences, check-ins/outs, and any questions you have regarding your student's attendance.

Registration Materials:
At the bottom are all of the registration materials you will need to bring with you on August 8th or 9th. Please read through this information carefully and bring separate documents for each student. There is a checklist to help ensure you remember everything you will need.

Registration Volunteers:
We are looking for a few parents to help volunteer on our walk-in registration days. We will need volunteers roughly from 6:45 am to 1:30 pm on August 8th and 6:45 am to 11:30 am on August 9th. If you are interested in volunteering, please reply to this e-mail and someone will get back to you.
