Announcements March 18th -22nd

posted Mar 21, 2013, 6:51 AM by Larissa Little
Dear Paradigm Families,

Here are our announcements for the week:

  • Witches and war, murder and manipulation, revelation and retribution. Come see Paradigm High School's production of Macbeth at the Rose Wagner Theater. Performances are Friday March 29th and Saturday March 30th. Tickets are $6 and can now be purchased online at
  • Congratulations to Jacob Peck! He took 9th place at the State Chess Tournament over the weekend. We would like to thank all those who shared their rooms for the tournament and all those who volunteered their time. Our visitors are very grateful we hosted the tournaments. After Spring Break, we invite anyone to Chess Club who would like to learn how to play or how to improve their skills in chess.
  • The ACT make-up test is tomorrow! This test is only for Juniors that missed the last test and have already filled out he personal information section on their answer form. The ACT will be given in room 223 (Mrs. Christensen's room) and the test will begin promptly at 8 am and end at 12:00 noon. Students should plan on arriving early if they are taking this test as late students will not be admitted. Please remember to eat a good breakfast and bring your calculators.
  • This Thursday we will have a special guest lecture. Dr. Blodgett recently retired from Southern Utah University (SUU) and chaired the college's language department. His doctoral dissertation, "Similarities in Germanic and Hebrew," was the beginning of a lifelong quest to trace, linguistically, the lost tribes of Israel. He has received numerous awards for his research which he has presented extensively at conferences in America, Germany, and Switzerland. Because of the nature of this lecture--very interesting (in linguistics, history, and mythology) but not entertaining--we are opening this opportunity to hear him speak to only 80 students. If you would like to hear Dr. Blodgett speak, please let your core mentor know. He will speak from 1:00-2:30pm in Mrs. Steinmann's room.
  • Students interested in taking an AP test this year, this Friday is the last day to register for it in the main office. If you have not yet registered for an AP exam and would like to, please bring your money ($89) to the office and let the front desk know which test you plan to take. The testing schedule is posted on the glass outside of Dr. Henke's office.
