Announcements March 12-16, 2012

Here are our announcements for the week:

  • Due to a scheduling conflict with the Republican and Democratic Caucuses this Tuesday and Thursday, the Choir Concert and Band/Orchestra Concert have been cancelled this week. Please make note of this cancellation.
  • Zach Faulkner has won a state award from the Council of Exceptional Children. He was nominated for the category of Community Service and won one of eight awards! His award ceremony is tomorrow Tuesday March 13th at 7 pm at the Sandy Events Center. Please contact Zach if you are able to come. He would love to have his friends and mentors in attendance. We all congratulate Zach on his success!
  • Congratulations to the Academic Decathlon team who took second place in our division at the state competition this last weekend! Rachel Darata led the team scoring a whopping 6,656 points! As a team they brought in 36 individual medals in 10 different categories: speech, interview, essay, mathematics, economics, art, music, language & literature, physics, and super quiz. If you are interested in joining the team for next year as they study Russia and the space race, please contact Mr. Fife or Miss Sorensen or one of the current team members for more details!
  • Please come to Language Club tomorrow Tuesday in room #144. We will have Russian with Ms. Yermolova. All are welcome!
  • Film Club is this Thursday from 3-4:30pm in Mr. Bastian's room. Hope to see you there!
  • Introduction to Engineering Design Club will be today in Mr. J Rogers room #206 from 3-4pm. Visitors are always welcome!
  • Congress will meet this Wednesday during 2nd and 3rd periods.
  • All submissions for the Vans Custom Culture Shoe Design Competition need to be turned into Madame Spain (Mrs. Johnson) by next Friday March 23rd. Look for more info on the back page of The 'Digm (the school newspaper).
  • Congratulations to Rachel Hoffman for receiving an award of merit at the 40th annual All-State High School Art Show! Go to the Springville Museum of Art to see Rachel's artwork along with Sydney Diamond's and Nathan Tolman's and artwork from high school students all over the state. The exhibit closes March 22nd!
  • Make-ups for the ACT that was taken here at Paradigm on March 6th is next Tuesday March 20th. If you missed the ACT (ACT only, sorry no make-ups for PLAN and EXPLORE) and would like to take it on the make-up day, please see us in the front office. You will need to fill out the pre-test form prior to next Tuesday and you will miss your morning classes on the 20th.
