Announcements March 11th-14th

Dear Paradigm Families,

Here are our announcements for the week:

  • Just a reminder that there is NO school this Friday for all students. Enjoy your 3-day weekend!
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors! A rep from Westminster College will be here at Paradigm during lunch tomorrow. This is a great opportunity to come find out more about Westminster and what they have to offer!
  • Witches and war, murder and manipulation, revelation and retribution.Come see Paradigm High School's production of Macbeth at the Rose Wagner Theater. Performances are Friday March 29th and Saturday March 30th. Tickets are $6 and can now be purchased online at www.arttix.org
  • There are students who have not picked up their dance showcase DVDs. If you are one of them, please see Miss Watterson ASAP to pick them up.
  • Chess Club this Tuesday and Thursday after school. The State Jr. High Tournament will be here at Paradigm thiFriday and Saturday. Tomorrow is the last day for 9th graders to sign-up at the discounted price. We will begin setup for the tournament after school on Thursday!
  • Paradigm's Academic Decathlon competed in the state competition this past weekend. It was an incredible showing! Paradigm got 37 out of a possible 90 medals, many of which were gold! They placed FIRST in their division, meaning FIRST out of all small schools in Utah! This means that they will be competing in the national competition in April for the first time! They also placed third in the state overall, behind Park City High School and Bingham High School. Way to go!!! Come talk to Mrs. Divis if you are interested in competing with us next year.
  • The Spring Choir Concert is this Wednesday March 12th at 7:00 pm. Admission is free and it will be a great show that you won't want to miss!
  • Come one, come all to the Paradigm Spring Symphony Concert this Thursday March 13th at 7:00 pm. We would love to see everyone there to show support for your friends and your school. And it's a great chance to enjoy an evening of classical music! Best of all -- it's free! Hope to see you there!
  • Bring your strings, bows, picks, and/or other music paraphernalia to Slow Jam this Wednesday and Tunes at Noon on THURSDAY this week!
  • Attention all students! The Paradigm Gallery is hereby scheduled for April 25th and 26th! This is an annual expression of your intelligence and is a chance for you to show off school projects that you have gone above and beyond and have shown a deeper study on. Just think of a Science Fair, but for all subjects! This event is highly rewarded with $10 off your Feast and Ball ticket for everyone who participates! There are also CASH prizes to be awarded! Sign-up to participate and prepare your project in a most excellent way. These projects are often turned into Mastery Projects for two of your classes and will allow you to possibly get a "5" grade in both. More information will be announceon posters later this week. The deadline to sign-up is Friday March 29th (the day before Spring Break begins). If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bateman in the library.
  • Feast and Ball is right around the corner! It's never too early to start planning for this wonderful Paradigm tradition and event. To prepare for this fabulous and VERY FORMALoccasion, please be aware of the following standard of dress: FORMAL ATTIRE means the highest possible standard of apparel in every way. Elegance, sophistication, and grace are all words which indicate the quality of refinement expected at Feast and Ball. Ladies: ALL dresses must go to the floor. Dresses must have sleeves and must not be revealing in any way. Gentlemen: Formal attire is required and we encourage tuxedos. We encourage formal attire from other time periods as well. If you should have questions, please talk to Mr. Seminario or Ms. Hanson. Feast and Ball will be held on Saturday May 11th!
  • The Spring Dutch Oven competition will be held on Friday May 17th. If you would like to participate, find yourself a partner and a recipe and make sure you're passing your classes! More information to come.
  • The Junior/Senior Formal Tea will be held on Thursday April 18th. Juniors and Seniors: you and your parents will receive a formal invitation to this event soon. Please talk to Ms. Hanson if you have any questions.
