Dear Paradigm Families,

Welcome to 2nd Semester! Here are our announcements for the week:

  • If you are a Yoga student from last semester and have not picked up your Yoga mat, please take it home and use it often. Yoga students from last semester also need to pick up their Yoga sticks after school so you aren't carrying it around to your classes throughout the day.
  • If you are part of the Outdoor Adventure Club, please check your e-mail about our next adventure! We'll be taking a snowshoeing expedition to Donut Falls on January 31st. See your e-mail or Mrs. Cavallaro for important details. Space is limited so act quickly!
  • Tomorrow, Tuesday, we will be holding a Les Miserables Book Club before school at 7:30 am and at lunch. Please join us if you need questions answered or if you just want to talk to someone who is also reading it.
  • The price of the yearbook will go up after January 31st, so come purchase your copy today! You can pay $25 now and the rest later to reserve your copy.
  • Did you know that you can have your name engraved on your yearbook? That way your book won't get lost when you're passing it around to all of your friends on yearbook day! You can also put 4 extra pages with all of your own pictures sewn right into the back of your yearbook! It's only $15 and the deadline is also at the end of January. See Mrs. McCoy in the library for more info!
  • This is a reminder if you are interested in participating in the AMC math competition on Tuesday February 5th during 1st and 2nd periods here at Paradigm, please let your math mentor know as soon as possible. AMC participation looks great on job and college applications and can lead to more competitive national and international competitions. If you like math, the AMC is a great challenge for your brain and is a lot of fun!
  • Slow Jam is this Wednesday in Mr. Fife's room and, as always, Tunes at Noon this Friday under the stairs!
  • Next Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so that means NO SCHOOL! Enjoy your 3-day weekend!

We have some information regarding a state program that we would like to pass along to our families:

  • The Utah Child Protection Registry ( is a free program provided by the State of Utah that helps you stop marketers that send adult-oriented messages, such as those promoting pornography, alcohol, illegal drugs, and tobacco from targeting you and your family. This program allows you to protect: E-mail addresses, mobile phone numbers, instant messenger IDs, and fax numbers. Companies and marketers are required to screen their mailing lists and remove registered addresses and numbers before they send their solicitations. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties and fines. To sign-up for this free program, please visit

Have a great week!
