Dear Paradigm Families,

Here are our announcements for this week:

  • Parents! Don't forget that we have begun the re-enrollment process for the 2013-2014 school year. We sent an e-mail out last Thursday afternoon with all of the details. If you did not receive this e-mail, please contact us at 801-676-1018. The deadline to secure your student's spot for the next school year is Friday March 1st!
  • Blues Jam this Wednesday during lunch in room #106 and Tunes at Noon this Friday under the stairs!
  • Chess Club will be in room #222 on Tuesday and in room #219 on Thursday this week. Congratulations to Easton Pulver! He represented Paradigm well at the successful tournament we hosted here at Paradigm last Saturday.
  • The American Mathematics Contest is tomorrow during 1st and 2nd periods in rooms #203/205. If you are taking the AMC, please go to your 1st period class tomorrow morning and we will make an announcement when it is time to come up for the contest tomorrow. Good luck to all of our participants!
  • The Outdoor Adventure Club had an epic first adventure snowshoeing last week! This club is open to all students, mentors, and staff. If you are interested in joining us on any events, it is based on a first come, first serve basis. In other words, whoever returns their permission slips first will be included in the event. Our next trip will be cross country skiing at Soldier Hollow on Thursday February 21st. We have room for 20 students. Stay tuned for details! Also, if you left a pair of snowshoes in the back of Mrs. Cavallaro's car, please see her to retrieve them
  • How is your reading of Les Miserables coming? Don't give up! You will see outside the library this week an area that if you've read the book from August 1, 2012 to the current date, then you can sign the Les Miserables Hall of Fame! If you've started it, but haven't finished, you can be part of the Les Miserables "I'm reading it!" wall! Tomorrow, we will be hosting the Les Mis discussion group during lunch at 12 noon. Come and join us!
  • Way to go Paradigm! We sold way more than 31 yearbooks last week, which means you have earned yourself a dance party! It will be held during lunch this Thursday in the gym!
  • Please turn in your late library books from last semester since they are soooooo overdue. The fines will increase if you wait much longer.
  • Past and Present Novel Writing Students: a trip to LTUE is planned for Thursday February 14th. For a permission slip, please see Ms. Hanson.
  • Wow! Feast and Ball is around the corner! It's never too early to start planning for this wonderful Paradigm tradition and event. To prepare for this fabulous and very formaloccasion, please be aware of the following standard of dress: FORMAL ATTIRE means the highest possible standard of apparel in every way. Elegance, sophistication, and grace are all words which indicate the quality of refinement expected at Feast and Ball. Ladies: ALL dresses must go to the floor. Dresses must have sleeves and must not be revealing in any way. Gentlemen: Formal attire is required and we encourage tuxedoes. We encourage formal attire from other time periods as well. If you should have any questions, please talk to Mr. Seminario or Ms. Hanson. Feast and Ball will be held on Saturday May 11th.
  • Senior Committee: Please see Ms. Hanson during lunch tomorrow, Tuesday February 5th.
  • Come see Mrs. Baugh's "How Tragic!" Shakespeare Core Class perform Macbeth at the Rose Wagner Theatre downtown on Friday March 29th and Saturday March 30th! Tickets will be on sale in two weeks and we will have more details soon!
  • Congratulations to our Academic Decathlon team! They placed FIRST overall among small schools at their competition last Friday! They won 45 out of the 90 medals given. WOW! Way to go!
  • Penny Wars is officially underway! It's time for you to join your core class and choose a charity or cause that you associate with and try to win all of the proceeds for! Please be active in serving other people and making your voice be heard in the choosing of a charity you're passionate about! Mentors will go over all the rules and details in your core class. Have fun selecting the charity you will represent and good luck!

Have a great week!
