Dear Paradigm Families,

Here are our announcements for the week:

  • This week is Spirit Week! Everyone's crazy hair has been CRAZY today and we love it! Make sure you participate in the rest of our festivities this week: Tuesday is Tie Day, Wednesday is Ugly Sweater Day and Movie Night (7pm at Paradigm), Thursday is Tacky Day (mismatched clothes that are still Paradigm appropriate), and Friday is Hat Day!
  • Next Tuesday, March 5th, we will be administering the ACT to all Juniors. We will also administer preparatory ACT exams for all Freshmen and Sophomores. These tests will be offered at no charge for Paradigm students. Students should come prepared with plenty of sleep, a good breakfast, and a calculator. Juniors will also need to bring their photo ID. This day will be a half-day and we will have more details next Monday. Seniors will be given the day off (unfortunately we cannot offer the test to seniors as the grant we received was only for grades 9-11). Please contact Dr. Henke, thenke@paradigmhigh.org, if you have any questions.
  • Jostens will be here during lunch tomorrow to pick-up orders from the Junior meeting last week.
  • Attention Seniors and Juniors! A representative from Snow College will be here tomorrow Tuesday February 26th during lunch to visit with students and answer any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity to start thinking about your future!
  • Attention Academic Decathlon members! Please bring your permission slip and medical release to Mrs. Divis ASAP!
  • Be sure to check out some of Paradigm High student artwork currently on display at the Sandy Barnes and Noble (10180 S State Street). The artwork will be displayed for the next two weeks. Go and support your artistic peers!
  • Join us tomorrow for the first meeting of the Paradigm Servant Leadership Club! This club is dedicated to the betterment of our community and the exploration of what i means to be a leader and serve.
  • We have received the results for the American Mathematics Contest that 24 of our students participated in earlier this month. While we still don't know how our students placed nationally, we would like to congratulate the following students for their performance in the competition with fellow Paradigm students: Winning the AMC 12 at our school were - Ramita Wanghirankul in 1st place, Austin Nickell in 2nd place, and John Fisher in 3rd place! Winning the AMC 10 at our school were - Laurel Pells in 1st place, Keith Pells in 2nd place, and Bryn Beynon in 3rd place. Great job!
  • Congratulations to Jacob Peck and William Clark who represented Paradigm High well at the State High School Chess Tournament. On March 15th and 16th, we will be hosting the State Jr. High Chess Tournament. All freshmen are welcome to compete in this tournament. Even if you're new to chess, this is a good tournament to gain experience in. Chess Club will meet this Tuesday and Thursday in room #222 after school.
  • All are welcome to come and play with us at Tunes at Noon this Friday under the stairs and Slow Jam this Wednesday in room #106.
  • Aaaand we're back! After a short break from Mock Trial, we're beginning practices again after school. Remember, we have two weeks until our next competition date! See you after school!
  • Come see Mrs. Baugh's "How Tragic!" Shakespeare Core Class perform Macbeth at the Rose Wagner Theatre downtown on Friday March 29th and Saturday March 30th. Tickets are $6.00 and are available to purchase at www.arttix.com beginning this Friday March 1st!
  • The Les Miserables Book Club will be meeting this week on Tuesday during lunch. Please come and discuss this amazing book!
  • Do you play a sport at another high school? We would like to highlight you in the yearbook! We need to know who you are! Please come to the library to let us know.
  • We appreciate all those who participated in the Book Fair at the Sandy Barnes and Noble. It's not too late to order as our school is very close to making their goal. You can visit us online at www.bn.com/bookfairs and enter our book fair ID at checkout #11020898
  • There is an exciting opportunity for students to participate in a summer abroad program. The CIEE Leadership Academy is looking for high school students who want to discover a new culture and country, participate in relevant service activities, and to develop your leadership skills through a summer abroad program that is four weeks long. There are scholarships available for students who qualify. But you must hurry! The deadline to apply for the scholarship is THIS Friday March 1st! Please visitwww.ciee.org/high-school-summer-abroad/ to check it out!

Have a great day!
