Dear Paradigm Families,

Here are our announcements for the week (please make sure you read all of our announcements as we have some great volunteer opportunities coming up!)

  • Hey Seniors! Don't forget to sign-up for our Senior Days activities. Senior Days will be held Tuesday May 28th through Thursday May 30th. All sign-ups and fees are due by Tuesday April 16th. We will have a sign-up table near the office this Wednesday and Thursday during lunch. We are still in need of parent volunteers to help with these three days, so if you are interested, please contact our main office at 801-676-1018. This is a great way to get in your volunteer hours!
  • If you are interested in your student participating in our Academy Program next year or if you have an incoming 7th or 8th grader, then please mark your calendars for our Parent Meeting next Wednesday April 17th from 7:00-8:30pm here at Paradigm. Please RSVP to 801-676-1018 or
  • Thank you to all who signed up for Student Gallery. We are pleased to announce we were able to accept all of the applications! Please come to a brief information meeting on Thursday from 2:50-3:00 (we will release you in time to meet your carpool and rides). Thanks again and we look forward to seeing your projects in action!
  • Join us for Slow Jam this Wednesday in room #106 during lunch and for Tunes at Noon under the stairs on Friday!
  • Would you like to learn how to play chess or just have fun learning more? If so, please come to room #222 Tuesday after school and/or to room #219 Thursday after school. There is no obligation, just come and have fun! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Allred or Mr. Clark.
  • Come see On Broadway, Paradigm's end-of-year dance concert showcase. This show will feature the best of Paradigm's ballet, ballroom, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical talent! This show is FREE and will be held on Thursday May 9th at 7 pm at Riverton High School. This is a one-time only show, so you definitely don't want to miss it!
  • Many books were due before Spring Break. It is now after Spring Break, so please help your books find their way home to the library. Please return them so your fines don't accumulate!
  • The Les Miserables Book Club will be meeting tomorrow during lunch. Please come and discuss this amazing book. Time is running out to finish it this year and win a prize! Make a resolution to finish reading it and become part of our Wall of Fame.
  • Attention students young and old! Do you like to take pictures? Are you into design? Are you a photoshop guru? Are you a creative writer? Then the Yearbook Staff is for you! IT is a great way to get involved with the school. Plus, it's super fun! Applications can be found in the library and are due on Friday!
  • Attention Juniors! We are looking for top-notch students to join the Senior Committee for next year! We will take attendance, grades, and behavior into consideration and you will need a recommendation from a mentor. If you are interested in joining the Senior Committee next year, please come pick-up an application from the main office!
  • Next week is Music Recruitment Week! We want you to be involved in music while at Paradigm, even if you feel like you're not musically talented. We can teach you how to sing or play an instrument! Additional information will be posted outside of the music rooms this week. Get involved in music at Paradigm!
  • Men's Chorus retake pictures are this Wednesday April 10th during 5th period. All men who sang with Men's Chorus either first or second semester need to attend. Please wear your choir uniform. Madrigal and Bel Canto picture retakes are also this Thursday April 11th during class.
  • Drivers needed:  If you are still need volunteer hours and are a driver than the Choir and German classes need your help.  Please consider volunteering to be a driver on April 20th for the A Capella adventure day which includes singing and hiking to some fun hot springs.  I need Paradigm approved drivers from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and it is going to be fun!   I also need drivers from 7:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday April 18th to the BYU German Fair.   Please contact me if you are interested
  • Choir Auditions will be held every day after school from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. April 17th to April 26th.  (Excluding Wednesday April 24th) Parents and students who would like more information on auditioning for choir next year should read the information on Mrs. Steinmann's website:
  • If you have received an invitation to the Junior/Senior Formal Tea and have not yet returned your RSVP card, please do so by Friday in the box available in the front office.
  • Wow! Feast and Ball is around the corner! Feast and Ball will be held on Saturday May 11th at Thanksgiving Point. Please be aware of the following standard of dress for this very FORMAL occasion: FORMAL ATTIRE means the highest possible standard of apparel in every way. Elegance, sophistication, and grace are all words that indicate the quality of refinement expected at Feast and Ball. Ladies: ALL dresses must go to the floor. Dresses must have sleeves and must not be revealing in any way. Gentlemen: Formal attire is required and we encourage tuxedoes. If you can't rent a tux, then a suit jacket, tie, dress shirt, slacks, and dress shoes are required. We encourage formal attire from other time periods as well. If you shoulhave any questions about your attire, please talk to Mr. Seminario or Ms. Hanson. Students will be sent home to change if their attire is not modest. Tickets will be sold Monday April 29th through Friday May 3rd during lunch. Tickets are $55 per student. Each ticket includes a buffet dinner, entrance to the Formal Gardens at Thanksgiving Point, a picture package, and the dance.
  • Parents and Students: Following are a few places you can go to find a dress for Feast and Ball.  These are only suggestions.  You must take care to follow all the modesty dress standards required.  Female students can use a bolero or formal jacket over an inappropriate dress.  Shawls may NOT be used as a bolero or formal jacket.  Please be especially aware of revealing cleavage as it is not appropriate.
    • Dazzling Dress Rentals - By Appointment Only - (801) 808-4656, Riverton, Utah
    • Modest Prom Dress Rental - (801) 489-9790
    • (This website has a list of stores across the Wasatch Front who sell modest prom dresses.  One of the reasons we have our Feast and Ball so late in the season is so that students can buy - if they wish - at a good discount.  You may need to go to the stores of your choice to look on the discount racks as the websites may not have all their dresses listed online.)

Have a great week!
