Announcements April 30 - May 4

Dear Paradigm Families,

Here are our announcements for the week:

  • Tunes at Noon welcomes all to join us this Friday for our jam under the stairs.
  • Applications for the "Illusions" chalk art festival on May 18th are now available in the art room #217. You will need to have it filled out, signed by a parent, and turned into Madame Spain by May 10th. Late applications will NOT be accepted!
  • Don't forget Yearbook Staff applications are due today by 3:00pm to the library!
  • Yearbooks are going fast so please come and pay for yours today for only $50!
  • This week is Music Recruitment Week. We have lots of fun activities this week to inspire you. We want everyone to have the opportunity to do Music at Paradigm. On Thursday, please come by the choir room after school to get a cookie! Ladies, remember to grab a guy and guys, grab a girl to come audition with you! Talk to Mrs. Steinmann if you have any questions and remember to sign up for choir!
  • Auditions for Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Band need to be completed by this Friday May 4th. Talk to Mr. Jensen to get audition materials and to set up an audition time.
  • Students interested in learning a musical instruments, please come to the music room on Thursday to try out band instruments, including the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and tuba. If strings are more your thing, come on Friday to try out the violin, viola, cello, and bass.
  • Mrs. Jones' Les Miserables core class will be conduction a book drive this week and will donate all books to Eyes for Zimbabwe. Any level of difficulty or genre will be accepted. We want them in good condition, no missing pages, or scribbles please! There will be a contest among core classes and the winner will receive a sugary treat! The contest starts today and ends Friday May 4th.
  • A friendly reminder from Mrs. Cavallaro for Foods & Nutrition students--please remember to bring in your sprouting jars if you have not yet done so and remember to visit and rinse your sprouts first thing in the morning and after school each day this week.
  • Anyone interested in the Dutch Oven Cook-Off on May 18th need to be in a meeting during lunch this Wednesday in Ms. Hanson's room #101. This meeting will answer all your questions. Please come with your team member, only two people per group. 
  • Feast and Ball Tickets will go on sale on Monday May 7th until Friday May 11th. Tickets are $55 per student and include a buffet dinner, admittance into the gardens, picture package, and the dance. Formal Attire is required for this dance. Ladies, when choosing your dresses, please remember that they must be modest: no shoulders, no backs, no shoulder blades, no cleavage, no knees. If you have any questions about your attire, please see Ms. Hanson or Mr. Seminario.
